PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a muscle tissue volume evaluation method that can evaluate the level of muscle development and muscle atrophy handily and accurately.SOLUTION: The impedance measuring electrode that consists of a pair of current application electrodes and a pair of voltage measurement electrodes is touched to a body surface, and the impedance of a body is measured. Concretely, the ac current of a low frequency (for instance, 5 kHz) is impressed to the electrode that touches the measurement site, and the impedance is measured (S3). The ac current of a high frequency (for instance, 250 kHz) is impressed to the electrode, and the impedance is measured (S4). The impedance ratio Z250/Z5 is calculated (S5).
