In particular, the intermediate cylindrical member comprises a first rigid intermediate member end part (31) at a handling end portion (141) of the instrument, and a second rigid intermediate member end part (35) at an actuating end portion (145) of the instrument. Said rigid intermediate member end parts are interconnected via at least three longitudinal elements (38； 130) such that said longitudinal elements control a radial deflection of the handling end portion by a radial deflection of the actuating end portion through a movement of said longitudinal elements in a longitudinal direction. Each pair of adjacent longitudinal elements is interconnected by at least a first flexible bridge (134； 135； 136) that is arranged at least in parts coinciding with flexible parts (22, 24； 42, 44) of the instrument.
