A process for producing a porous molding, which porous molding when used in plant husbandry, enables cutting down water bills and, while having a structure capable of enlarging cultivation area even when the cultivation is conducted on building rooftop, can reduce fertilizer costs. In particular, a process for producing a porous molding, comprising firing a mixture of a powdery glass material of 20 to 30 mum particle diameter, a blowing agent and a particulate zeolite of 1 to 1.5 mm particle diameter, and cooling the fired mixture, thereby obtaining a porous molding. There are further provided a porous molding produced by the process and a granular matter obtained by pulverizing the porous molding.
