Variable volume intra-gastric device for reducing volume of stomach of patient for e.g. therapeutic treatment of obesity, by fluid injection, has permanent plugging device sealing end of catheter tube and preventing any passage of fluid
The device (2) has a balloon (6) to be established in a stomach of a patient by endoscopic manner. A flexible, hollow and cylindrical tube (12) of a filling catheter (10) and the balloon are arranged freely in the stomach during treatment of the patient. The tube is arranged freely so as to be deformed over its length, and includes sufficient length allowing withdrawal of the balloon from the stomach, endoscopically during a traction on the tube from outside of mouth of the patient. A permanent plugging device seals an end (12b) of the tube and prevents any passage of fluid.L'invention concerne un dispositif intra-gastrique à volume variable par injection de fluide destiné à réduire le volume de l'estomac d'un patient dans le cadre d'un traitement de surcharge pondérale ou d'obésité, comportant : - un ballon (6), destiné à être implanté par voie endoscopique dans l'estomac du patient, formé d'une poche (8) souple à volume variable après implantation dont le volume varie selon la quantité de fluide injectée dans la poche ； et - des moyens de remplissage (10) dudit ballon (6), ces moyens de remplissage comprenant un cathéter souple (12) possédant une première extrémité (12a) connectée de manière fixe et étanche audit ballon (6). Selon l'invention, le cathéter et le ballon sont aptes à être libres dans l'estomac au cours du traitement du patient, en ce que le cathéter possède une longueur suffisante permettant le retrait du ballon de l'estomac par voie endoscopique lors d'une traction sur le cathéter depuis l'extérieur de la bouche du patient, et en ce que le dispositif intragastrique comprend un dispositif d'obturation permanente destiné à obturer la seconde extrémité (12b) du cathéter et empêchant tout passage de fluide.
