The method is intended for producing staging for a long greenhouse (e.g. 10-60 m) having a support surface (3) consisting of e.g. aluminium sheet material provided with downward flanges (4). The sheet is transported to site as a roll from which at least one table element is obtained, with a continuous length approximately equal to that of the greenhouse. The flanges are formed on site before installation. The flanges may be assembled with an upwardly open U-section to form a gutter (5), e.g. to receive a longitudinally extending perforated tube (9) for a water-fertiliser mixture.
