PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dosage form which improves the stability of a resorcinol derivative having a cyclic or branched alkyl group at the 4-th position.SOLUTION: The skin external preparation comprises (1) a resorcinol derivative having a cyclic or branched alkyl group at the 4-th position and/or its salt together with (2) an organically modified clay mineral. The resorcinol derivative having a cyclic or branched alkyl group at the 4-th position is preferably 4-cyclohexylresorcinol, and the organically modified clay mineral is preferably an organically modified hectorite, and the external preparation is preferably of a water-in-oil-in-water dosage form.
