PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for stably compounding an ingredient having low solubility in a water-in-oil emulsion composition using an organic-modified clay mineral.SOLUTION: This water-in-oil emulsion type external preparation for the skins is characterized by comprising an organic-modified clay mineral and one or more selected from polyacrylic acid, polymethacrylic acid, optionally alkylated carboxyvinyl polymers and their salts. It is preferable that the external preparation for the skins contains a phytosterol glycoside, a sphingo glycolipid, ursolic acid, ursolate and their salts.
