The invention relates to the field of ecology, in particular to the technology of degassing containers from fumigation preparations, specifically - phosphine. First is carried out the mechanical degassing of container by its partially filling with a product which has undergone treatment by phosphine, then the container is shaken for 30-45 seconds, after which the product is removed. The container is filled with 3-10 % aqueous hydrogen peroxide solution, capped and shaken for 30-45 seconds, and plugs and package is treated by the same aqueous hydrogen peroxide solution by spraying for 30-50 seconds. The method can significantly reduce duration of degassing container on a shipboard while maintaining high efficiency and safety of the process.
