A flexible monitoring system for continuous monitoring of a fluid in a user is disclosed. The flexible monitoring system includes a transmitter support assembly and a sensor assembly. The transmitter support assembly includes a base substrate layer having a first surface for contact with the skin of the user. A circuit board layer is located on an opposite second surface of the base substrate layer. A cover layer is placed over the circuit board and the base substrate layer. The sensor assembly is supported by the transmitter support assembly and includes a sensor extending through the base substrate layer.
