The pump device 1 comprises a pump head 2 and a container 20 for the liquid to be dispensed. The pump head 2 has a flexible dispensing tube 4 fluidly connected inside the vessel 20. The fluid connection between the dispensing tube 4 and the interior of the vessel 20 is provided by a supply tube 28 that cooperates with the dispensing tube 4 to provide a check valve function. One end 48 of the feed tube 28 is disposed in one end of the dispensing tube 4, and the check valve function is positioned at the side wall of the feed tube 28 in the region where the dispensing tube 4 and the feed tube overlap.
