PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a planting apparatus having a function for efficiently irrigating by retaining water irrigating at one point in a wide range under a soil layer and infiltrating the retained water into the soil layer in a wide range in the end and to provide a water retention/drainage base plate used therein.SOLUTION: The planting apparatus includes: a waterproof layer disposed in a foundation a root barrier layer formed on the waterproof layer for preventing intrusion of plant roots into the waterproof layer a water retention/drainage base layer formed on the root barrier layer and a soil layer spread on the water retention/drainage base layer. In the water retention/drainage base layer, a plurality of water retention spaces whose top is open and a plurality of lateral drainage spaces whose bottom is open are alternately disposed, and a plurality of vertical drainage spaces orthogonally crossing the lateral drainage spaces are also disposed. The planting apparatus also includes an island part formed on the top of each lateral drainage space and having an apex face higher than the top of the water retention space, and a vent hole disposed on the apex face of each island part for ventilation (aeration) among the soil layer and lateral and vertical drain spaces.COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT【課題】ある一点で潅水した水が土壌層の下で広範囲にわたり保水され終にはこの保水された水が広範囲に土壌層に浸透することにより、効率よく潅水できる機能を有する植栽装置とこれに用いる保水・排水基板を実現する。【解決手段】下地に設けられる防水層と、植物根の防水層への侵出を防止するために前記防水層上に形成される防根層と、この防根層の上に形成される保水・排水基盤層と、この保水・排水基盤層上に敷設される土壌層とを具え、この保水・排水基盤層は、上面が開口する保水空間と下面が開口する横排水空間とが交互にそれぞれ複数配設されるとともに横排水空間と直交して複数の縦排水空間が配設されてなり、前記横排水空間の上面に形成されて保水空間の上面より高い頂面を有する島部と、前記島部の頂面に設けられて前記土壌層と前記横および縦排水空間との間の通気(エアレーション)をなすための通気孔を具えた植栽装置を提供して、上記従来の課題を解決する。【選択図】 図2
