The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing a wax-like composition including performing decarboxylative dimerization with respect to a fatty acid composition in which a fatty acid is composed such that (1) the amount of a straight-chain fatty acid is 30% by mass to 100% by mass to a total mass of a total fatty acids, or (2) the amount of the straight-chain fatty acid is 25% by mass to less than 30% by mass and a liquid type branched-chain fatty acid having two or three carboxylic acids at 25℃ is not contained or the content of the branched-chain fatty acid is equal to or less than a detection limit and then performing a hydrogenation and deoxidation reaction to an obtained aliphatic ketone. According to the present invention, it is possible to provide a hydrocarbon composition and a method of manufacturing thereof, the hydrocarbon composition having a decreased amount of impurities excluding desired components having excellent formability, stability, release characteristics, water repellent, waterproof property, and anti-blocking characteristics and placing minimal burden on the environment, in comparison with an existing hydrocarbon composition.本發明係有關於一種蠟狀組成物之製造方法,其特徵在於:對脂肪酸組成物進行脫碳酸的二聚化反應之後,對所得到的脂肪族酮進行氫化脫氧反應,其中該脂肪酸組成物之脂肪酸組成如下:(1)直鏈脂肪酸的含量相對於總脂肪酸的合計質量為30質量%以上且100質量%以下,或(2)直鏈脂肪酸的含量相對於總脂肪酸的合計質量為25質量%以上且小於30質量%,而且不含有具有2或3個羧酸且於25℃下為液狀的分枝鏈脂肪酸,或其含量為檢測限度以下。依照本發明,相較於原有的烴組成物,能夠提供可減低目標成分以外的夾雜物含量且成形性、安定性、脫模性、拒水性、防水性、及抗黏結性優異,而且減低環境負荷之烴組成物及其製造方法。
