PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiographic image pickup device capable of more suitable radiation detection.SOLUTION: The radiographic image pickup device comprises: a sensor including a sensing unit in which pixels having conversion elements to convert radiation to electric charges are disposed in matrix form, a drive circuit for driving the sensing unit, and a readout circuit for outputting an electric signal proportionate to electric charges as image data a radiation detection unit for detecting an irradiation state of radiant rays at multiple positions inside the sensing unit and a control unit for controlling the operation of the drive circuit and readout circuit according to the result of detection by the radiation detection unit.
