PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the load of a user when setting a shimming region (a region for correcting the uniformity of an electromagnetic field).SOLUTION: The shimming region is automatically set on the basis of an image by preparatory photographing. As one example, in the case where a photographing target region is the mamma, the positions of the maximum values MAX1 and MAX2 are searched on the profile Prl obtained by projecting and integrating an axial tomographic image Ga in an AP direction and the regions [Xa, Xb] and [Xc, Xd] in the RL direction of the mamma are detected on the basis of the searched positions. The position of the maximum value is searched on the profile obtained by projecting and integrating a sagittal preparatory image in the AP direction and the region in the SI direction of the mamma is detected on the basis of this position. Then, the position of an inflection point is searched on the profile obtained by projecting and integrating a sagittal preparatory image in the SI direction and the region in the AP direction of the mamma is detected on the basis of this position.
