PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article for effectively preventing oozing and leakage from a side flap part even after urination in large quantities.SOLUTION: An absorbent article P2 includes an absorber 10 between a top sheet 11 composed of a liquid permeable sheet and a back sheet 12 composed of a liquid impermeable sheet, and is composed of a crotch part area 2 and areas 1 and 3 at both ends in the longitudinal direction holding the crotch part area therebetween. The absorbent article has a pair of left and right side flaps in the crotch part area 2 and the areas 1 and 3 at both ends in the longitudinal direction, and a pair of standing gathers 7 are disposed at both side edges in the longitudinal direction of the absorbent article. At the side flap of at least one of both ends in the longitudinal direction, a water absorbing laminate sheet 20 is provided on the upper part of the absorber, the water absorbing laminate sheet 20 is composed of an upper hydrophilic nonwoven fabric, a water absorbing layer containing a water absorbing resin and an adhesive, and a lower hydrophilic nonwoven fabric in order from a top sheet side, and the total content of the water absorbing resin in the water absorbing laminate sheet is 100 to 1000 g/m2.
