PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorptive article which can prevent a side seal part from deforming into a waving shape and is excellent in wearing feeling and external appearance.SOLUTION: The absorptive article 1, which includes: a surface sheet 2 forming a skin-facing surface a back sheet 3 forming a non-skin-facing surface and an absorptive body 4 positioned between both the sheets, has a doublet of compressed and vertically long grooves 6, 7 which are formed on both the sides of a longitudinal direction X, by integrally compressing the surface sheet 2 and the absorptive body 4, and further has a side seal part 51. The side seal part 51 is prepared by heat sealing the extending areas of the surface sheet 2 and the back sheet 3 from both the side edges 41 of the absorptive body 4, and is formed on the periphery of the absorptive article 1. An elastic member 8 is fixed in the side seal area 51 along the longitudinal direction X in an extended state along the longitudinal direction X.
