PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catching tool capable of catching marine products without damaging them, and also easily catching shellfishes having shells. SOLUTION: This catching tool has a pushing-up rod 2 installed in a cylindrical body 1 through an elastic member 3, having a front end part arranged so as to be exposed, and regulated so as to be advanced by resisting the elastic force of the elastic member 3, a pair of mutually facing holding fragments 4 having the rear end parts axially supported by the front end part of the pushing-up rod 2, guide fragments 5 arranged between the cylindrical body 1 and the holding fragments 4 respectively so as to be axially supported, and a pair of contacting fragments 6 capable of turning the holding fragments 4 pushed up by the advanced rod 2, in the opening direction, arranged between the front end parts of the pair of the holding fragments 4 so as to be axially supported by them, and having the bas parts axially supported by each other. The catching tool can catch the marine products by keeping the fully opened posture of the holding fragments 4 by engaging the base end parts of the contacting fragments 6 in a posture in which the axially supported part 6a of the base end parts is reversed, and keeping the posture to form a locked state, and dashing the contacting fragments 6 to the marine products to release the locked state and to instantly form a closed state of the holding fragments 4 by the elastic member 3, and to hold the marine products by the holding fragments.
