Lung lobes and fissures are delineated from image data voxels 66 and an emphysema value is generated based on a threshold segmentation using radio density values 68. A fissure integrity score is generated based on the voxels and a heterogeneity score is further generated based on the emphysema score 72. A report comprising the emphysema, fissure integrity and heterogeneity scores is generated as an output of the method 74. A bronchoscopic guided lung volume reduction procedure may be performed based on the generated report 76. The report may comprise a visual representation of lung emphysema level, fissure integrity and lung lobe candidacy. The emphysema level may be visually represented by a colour or pattern corresponding to lung lobe representation. Radio density values may be represented in Hounsfield units.
