The method may comprise the step of contacting a support layer with a human donor tissue, wherein the donor tissue and the support layer contain saline. The saline solution may include a solvent and a dissociated salt. The method may further comprise the step of evaporating a portion of the solvent from the surface of the support layer. Evaporation of the solvent can transfer a portion of the salt dissociated from the donor tissue to the support layer.
