PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article with side leakage preventive parts, excellent in the wearing feeling and in the leakage preventing capability.
SOLUTION: This sanitary napkin 1 comprises a liquid-retaining absorbent layer 11 and a liquid-impermeable leakage preventive layer 12, and a substantially oblong absorbent body 10. Both sides of the absorbent body 10 on the skin contact side are covered with a pair of side leakage preventive parts 5 and 5. Each side leakage preventive part 5 is formed by folding back a leakage preventive part forming sheet 50 outward in the cross direction of the absorbent body 10 to have an inner side edge part as a fold-back end part 51 inward in the cross direction of the absorbent body 10. An intermediate layer 50C is disposed between the folded-back parts of the side leakage preventive part forming sheet 50. The intermediate layer 50C is connected to a lower layer 50B composed of a part of the side leakage preventive part forming sheet 50 forming the non-skin-contact side of the side leakage preventive part 5.
