PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical image diagnostic apparatus and a management device for a puncture needle in the medical image diagnostic apparatus that allow parameters to be readily and accurately input.SOLUTION: A medical image diagnostic apparatus 1 includes imaging means for capturing a target portion in a subject and a puncture needle to be inserted in the target portion to obtain a medical image. The apparatus further includes registering means 11, a guide information generating unit 12, and a display unit 40. The registering means 11 causes a storing unit 30 to preliminarily store parameters indicating specification of a puncture needle in association with a type of the puncture needle. In response to input of a type of a puncture needle, the guide information generating unit 12 reads the parameters associated with the type of the puncture needle from the storing unit 30, and generates guide information for guiding the tip of the puncture needle using the read parameters.
