Separating substance mixtures, e.g. in desalination of sea water, comprises use of column containing solid or gel-like stationary phase and mobile phase
Separating substance mixtures comprises rotating a column containing a solid or gel-like stationary phase and a mobile phase about its longitudinal axis; applying the substance mixture and the mobile phase to one end in an annular region between the rotation center point and the outer edge of the column; transporting through the stationary phase under the action of forces acting parallel to the column axis; and allowing individual fractions of the substance mixture to exit at different points of the column. An Independent claim is also included for a device for carrying out the process. Preferred Process: The mobile phase is liquid or gaseous. The stationary phase contains gradients which are longitudinal and/or transverse to the axis of rotation. The forces acting on the column axis are gravitational force, pressure or a magnetic or electrical field.
