PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improvement technique with composition of a technique relevant to a harmonic wave of an ultrasonic wave and a technique relevant to transmission opening synthesis.SOLUTION: A transmission part 12 outputs a transmission signal to a probe 10 so as to transmit ultrasonic waves over a plurality of times while making the positions of the sound source different. A reception part 14 obtains a reception signal of the ultrasonic wave from the probe 10 for each time of transmission over the plurality of times. A synthesis processing part 20 synthesizes the reception signals of the ultrasonic waves obtained over the plurality of times. A harmonic wave extraction part 30 extracts a harmonic wave component from the synthesized reception signal of the ultrasonic waves. An image formation part 40 forms an ultrasonic image on the basis of the extracted harmonic wave component.
