PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a work machine and a portable terminal to easily perform radio communication while reducing power consumption of the radio communication.SOLUTION: An access point device 4 for work machine which is attached to a work machine 2 and connects the work machine 2 and a portable terminal 3, comprises: a communication unit 30 which performs radio communication with the portable terminal 3； a control unit 31 which controls the communication unit 30； and a time calculation unit 37 which calculates the total time of communication processing performed by the communication unit 30. When the total time calculated by the time calculation unit 37 becomes equal to or more than a predetermined time, the control unit 31 stops the radio communication by the communication unit 30.【課題】作業機と携帯端末との無線通信を行うにあたっての消費電力を抑えつつ、作業機と携帯端末との無線通信を簡単に行うことができるようにする。【解決手段】作業機２に装着されて作業機２と携帯端末３とを無線通信で接続するための作業機用アクセスポイント装置４であって、携帯端末３との無線通信を行う通信部３０と、通信部３０を制御する制御部３１と、通信部３０が通信処理を行った総時間を算出する時間算出部３７とを備え、制御部３１は、時間算出部３７が算出した総時間が所定時間以上となった際に、通信部３０による無線通信を停止する。【選択図】図１
