The node (5) has a first set of connecting flanges (14, 15) formed from a base wall structure (10) for connecting with a first cup-shaped body structure. A second set of connecting flanges (16, 17) is formed from the wall structure for connecting with second cup-shaped body structure, where the flanges act as bypass structures. A reinforcing rib (20) extends from a surface (11) of the wall structure. The wall structure and the rib are together formed as a thin walled metal casting body i.e. cast steel body in a casting process such that the node completely lies on an open shell body.
