PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new peptide degradation product of ray meat, and to provide a food, a new lipid metabolism improver, a liver function improver, a pet food and/or a composition for fodder containing the product. SOLUTION: The peptide degradation product of ray meat is obtained by subjecting the ray meat to enzyme treatment with a protease selected from the group consisting of pepsin, trypsin, chymotrypsin, pancreatin, papain and bromelain. The food, the new lipid metabolism improver, the liver function improver, the pet food and/or the composition for the fodder are obtained by formulating the peptide degradation product.
