The present invention is drawn to methods of stimulating or enhancing angiogenesis in a patient comprising, administering to said patient a therapeutically effective amount of an endorepellin protein, wherein said endorepellin protein has an amino acid sequence of domain V of perlecan or fragments or derivatives, analogs thereof and stimulating or enhancing generation of blood vessels.
