A drug delivery system includes a drug delivery device that carries and delivers a drug. The system further includes a housing, and the housing includes a main body and a cover coupled to the main body. The main body includes a chamber that carries the drug delivery device and an opening coupled to the chamber. The cover is movable relative to the main body from a closed position to an open position. In the closed position the cover obscures the opening and thereby inhibits egress of the drug delivery device from the chamber via the opening, and in the open position the cover permits egress of the drug delivery device from the chamber via the opening. A lock-out mechanism is carried by the housing.
