Self-propelled pasture boundary fence with time and tilt switches - has wire supported by crossbeams on self-erecting posts of cooperative battery-powered endless-tracked vehicles
The grazing enclosure is bounded by stationary fences on three sides of a rectangle whose fourth side is a movable wire (6) supported by two self-propelled tracked vehicles (e.g. 4) following parallel paths. The wire is fixed to two cross beams (47) at the tops of respective jointed posts (20) equipped with tilt switches (40, 41) whereby the posts are held upright on uneven ground. One vehicle only carries a time switch (38) connecting a battery (44) via pushbutton switches (30, 32) on the crossbeams to driving motors (17, 18). The wire is reeled and unreeled by winders (42). ADVANTAGE - Travelling fence is adapted automatically to differences of distance between stationary fences, and to unevenness of ground, so that livestock cannot escape.
