PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire an image not having blurring, distortion or the like while preventing permanent strain of a mount supporting a fork member performing confocal scanning.SOLUTION: This scanner for a scanning confocal endoscope include: the fork member having a point light source functioning as a confocal pinhole and the mount supporting the fork member. In the scanner, a bar-like magnet is connected to the base end of the fork member. The scanner includes an electromagnet facing to the base end of the bar-like magnet, and includes a control means controlling current carrying to the electromagnet, and magnetizing the electromagnet such that magnetic poles alternately invert to vibrate the fork member.
