PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guide wire which allows coexistence of passage property through a narrowed part and flexibility of the distal end.SOLUTION: The guide wire 10A includes a main wire body 12, a coil 14 covering the distal end outer periphery of the main wire body 12, an elastic member 16 placed inside of the coil 14. The coil 14 can move with respect to the main wire body 12 in accordance with extension/contraction of the elastic member 16. The distal end of the elastic member 16 is fixed to the distal end of the coil 14, and the proximal end is fixed to the distal end of the main wire body 12.
