PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sterile plant a fusion protein, fusion gene, vector, and transformant, which are useful for producing the sterile plant, and a method for producing the sterile plant.SOLUTION: According to the present invention, there is provided a sterile plant in which the function of CAG-type 1 gene is deficient or suppressed and the function of CAG-type 2 gene is deficient or suppressed. There is also provided a fusion protein obtained by fusing a CAG-type 1 protein and a peptide having a function of converting a transcription factor into a transcription repressor. There is further provided a fusion protein obtained by fusing a CAG-type 2 protein and a peptide having a function of converting a transcription factor into a transcription repressor.
