PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin and compact vein authentication device suitable for mounting to a compact apparatus.SOLUTION: A biometric authentication device images and inputs a compound-eye image constituted of a set of reduction images (ommatidium images) of a finger in a non-contact state by use of a reduction optical system including a lens array 3 in a state that a finger 1 is irradiated with the linearly polarized light of a specific polarized light direction by an illumination means 17. As an imaging element 10, a low-priced imaging element having a small imaging face 11 can be used. A lens 8 of a part of the lens array 3 includes an analyzer 30 making only a polarized light component of the specific polarized light direction pass. By performing correction calculation for removing a component of the ommatidium image by the lens 8 provided with the analyzer 30 from the ommatidium image by a lens 7 not provided with the analyzer of the lens array 3 in a correction calculation part 46, a clear vein image by light reflected and scattered inside the finger is obtained.COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT【課題】小型機器への搭載に適した薄型・小型の静脈認証装置を提供する。【解決手段】照明手段17により特定の偏光方向の直線偏光を指1に照射した状態で、レンズアレイ3を含む縮小光学系を用い、非接触で指の縮小像(個眼像)の集合からなる複眼像を撮像・入力する。撮像素子10として、撮像面11の小さな安価なものを使用可能である。レンズアレイ3の一部のレンズ8には上記特定偏光方向の偏光成分のみ通過させる検光子30が設けられる。レンズアレイ3の上記検光子が設けられていないレンズ7による個眼像から、上記検光子30が設けられたレンズ8による個眼像の成分を除去する補正演算を補正演算部46で行うことにより、指内部で反射・散乱された光による鮮明な静脈像を得る。【選択図】図1
