PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method that can easily produce a plate-like α gel composition, in which the destruction of lamellar domains is effectively prevented and which has an excellent feeling.SOLUTION: The method for producing a plate-like α gel composition includes: a step of melting a first blending raw material including one or more kinds of solid oily components at 25°C to obtain an oily first fluid and a mixing step of feeding the oily first fluid and an aqueous second fluid whose temperature is lower than the feeding temperature of the first fluid to a vibration type stirring mixer or a high speed rotary type stirring mixer and mixing them.
