A dentifrice composition characterized by comprising (A) finely-powdered calcium carbonate having an average primary particle diameter of 1 mm or less and (B) an amphoteric surfactant, and also characterized by having a pH value of 7 or more； and a tooth recalcification promoter characterized by comprising (A) finely-powdered calcium carbonate having an average primary particle diameter of 1 mm or less and (B) an amphoteric surfactant, and also characterized by having a pH value of 7 or more.
