PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide scissors with an electric assist function that can always detect stably and accurately a full open position of a cutting part to turn ON/OFF a motor without requiring position adjustment for detecting means for the full open position of the cutting part.SOLUTION: Scissors with an electric assist function is devised to achieve cutting by combined force of cutting force generated by grip force and cutting force generated by power of a motor, which is devised to cut an object to be cut by opening/closing movement of a pair of cutting parts. The scissors with an electric assist function, in which a pair of gripping portions (levers) are connected to power through a wire for power transmission and detecting means for cutting force generated by the grip force is incorporated in one of the gripping portions, that turns ON/OFF the motor using the detecting means for cutting force, where detecting means for a full open position that detects the full open position of the opening/closing movement of the pair of cutting parts and turns ON/OFF the motor is incorporated in the gripping portion.
