PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel method for screening a skin improving agent for improving transparency and softness of the skin using expression levels of a major receptor (hereinafter referred to as NK1R) of an SP (Substance P) in a dermal fibroblast, and skin improving agent.SOLUTION: The screening method of a skin improving agent using a quantity of NK1R of the dermal fibroblast as an index, includes: a measuring step of acquiring a quantity of NK1R (control) of the dermal fibroblast without adding a test article and a quantity of NK1R of the dermal fibroblast cultured by adding the test article； and a selection step of comparing the quantities of NK1R obtained in the previous step and selecting a test article, the quantity of NK1R of which is reduced compared with the control, as the skin improving agent.
