A machine for processing, more specifically mowing and crushing, haulm-like crops, is provided with crusher rollers (35, 36) having adjacently and oppositely arranged conical portions (46, 47) with oppositely directed conical variations. This achieves that the mown haulms are conveyed in different directions through the crusher rollers (35, 36), so that the haulms leaving the crusher rollers (35, 36) in a flow are interweaved. This provides a swath having a coherent crop structure, as a result of which the swath is easier to handle and less losses will occur during the picking-up. In addition, the crusher means (29,64) are constructed in such a way that the crop will be put onto the ground in a number of tunnel-like configurations lying side by side on the ground and extending in the direction of operative travel.
