PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size of a housing and power consumption in wireless communication with a controller.SOLUTION: An electronic cassette includes: a radiation detection part for detecting the start/end of irradiation and a radio communication part which communicates with a console by multiple communication methods. As shown in Fig.(A), communication with the console is performed in a low-power consumption communication mode at a lower speed until the start of irradiation is detected. When the start of irradiation is detected, radiation image capturing is started. When the end of irradiation is detected, a captured image is read, and image data is written in a memory. During the above period, communication with the console is suspended.
