PURPOSE: A method and apparatus for processing a time designation event of a content addressable memory is provided to reduce an overhead process in a process controller related to a time designation event by storing a display of the time designation event in a CAM, and by restoring the display. CONSTITUTION: A content addressable memory(104) stores a time designation event entry(112) equipped with an event identifier field(116), which identifies an event, to be processed and a time value field(114), which represents time to process the event. A time base value generator(314) periodically generates a time value.
