PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive unit for a greening system easy to execute, effectively using rain water and applicable to a wide variety of plants such as flowers, fleshy plants and shrubs. SOLUTION: The unit for the greening system comprises filling hydrophilic epoxy resin (a) having at least two epoxy radicals in one molecule, a soil water retention material (X) obtained by hardening a composition containing as the essential ingredient an amine compound (b) having at least two amino groups of the first or the second class in one molecule, and planting soil formulated with soil (c) as the essential ingredient, in a plastic-made container (f) set with drain holes on a position 2-10cm above the bottom. The soil water retention material (X) may comprise a soil water retention material (Y) obtained by formulating water (d) or an aqueous solution (e) with the above composition and hardening the product containing water, or a soil water retention material (Z) obtained by including water (dd) or an aqueous solution (ee) in the material (X) or (Y).
