The invention concerns a storage and mixing device (1, 100) for producinga dental preparation (21, 121) comprising two, three or more mixingcomponents (11, 13, 17； 11, 113, 117), wherein the storage and mixing devicehas an individual chamber or two or more chambers (9, 15； 109, 115) which areseparated from each other in a storage condition and which contain the mixingcomponents (11, 13, 17； 111, 113, 117), and an actuator (5, 105a, b) moveablefrom a storage position for maintaining the storage condition of the storageandmixing device into a reaction position for bringing the mixing components (11,13, 17； 111, 113, 117) together. In accordance with the invention it isproposedthat a first and a second mixing component (11, 13； 111, 113) and optionallyone or more further mixing components are already accommodated in theindividual chamber or a first chamber (9, 109) of the plurality of chamberswhenthe actuator (5, 105a, b) is still in the storage position.
