The present invention relates to a cosmetic composition comprising, in a cosmetically acceptable medium: a) an aqueous phase, b) at least one amphoteric surfactant chosen from betaines, said amphoteric surfactant of betaine type being present in an amount of at least 2.27% by weight relative to the total weight of the composition, and c) at least one anionic surfactant chosen from alkyl sulfates, the weight ratio (anionic surfactant chosen from alkyl sulfates): (amphoteric surfactant chosen from betaines) being between 3 and 4.9. It also relates to a process for cleaning keratin materials using such a composition. La présente invention se rapporte à une composition cosmétique comprenant, dans un milieu cosmétiquement acceptable : a) une phase aqueuse, b) au moins un tensioactif amphotère choisi parmi les bétaines, ledit tensioactif amphotère de type bétaine étant présent en une quantité d'au moins 2.27% en poids par rapport au poids total de composition, et c) au moins un tensioactif anionique choisi parmi les alkyl sulfates, le ratio pondéral (tensioactif anionique choisi parmi les alkyl sulfates) : (tensioactif amphotère choisi parmi les bétaines) étant compris entre 3 et 4.9. Elle se rapporte également à un procédé de nettoyage des matières kératiniques utilisant une telle composition.
