PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brake lever mounted on a reel body, which can reduce the weight of the reel and can simultaneously retain the strength of the reel body.SOLUTION: The lever brake mechanism 6 is a device for braking the line-releasing direction rotation of a rotor 3 rotatably mounted on a reel body 2 having a rod-mounting portion 2c and a leg portion 2b extended from the rod-mounting portion 2c. The lever brake mechanism 6 has a brake portion 16 and a brake lever 17. The brake portion 16 has a brake surface 41a, and is mounted on the reel body 2 capable of being rotated in interlock with the line-releasing direction rotation of the rotor 3.
