PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost stationary clinical thermometer of a non-contact type.SOLUTION: The clinical thermometer includes a thermopile sensor, two red LEDs and a photodiode embedded on the surface of a half mirror. When a measurer sees his/her face in the half mirror, the two red LEDs of the clinical thermometer emit light. Two lighting points appears on the forehead of the measurer by the two red LEDs. The measurer adjusts the distance between the half mirror and the face of the measurer so that the two lighting points coincide with each other to be one point on the center of the forehead. The photodiode determines the luminance of the lighting point on the forehead of the measurer when the measurer is in this positional relationship.
