PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a bathing person to be easily and smoothly transferred from an opening to the inside of a bathtub body even if gaps equivalent to the respective thicknesses of a door and the opening are formed.SOLUTION: An open-close type bathtub 10 includes a bathtub body 11, and a door 13 for opening and closing the opening 12 disposed in the upper part of a first side wall 11a of the bathtub body 11. The bathtub body 11 includes a lift mechanism 16 thereinside, the lift mechanism including pillars for supporting a seating portion having a seat surface portion 21 on which the bathing person is seated, and a lifting-up/down drive portion for lifting up and down the seating portion along the pillars. A seat surface flange 23 which protrudes above the opening 12 when the door 13 is lifted down is provided on the upper surface of the door 13.
