The present invention relates to an extract obtained by extracting Grateloupia imbricata Holmes with ethanol. The ethanol extract of Grateloupia imbricata Holmes effectively controls production of inflammatory cytokines and NO mediating inflammatory responses, and also effectively inhibits phosphorylation of mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPKs) in addition to suppression of NF-κB activities, thereby exhibiting effects of suppressing inflammation. Thus, the extract can be used for preventing or treating inflammatory diseases.본 발명은 꽃지누아리를 에탄올로 추출한 추출물에 대한 것이다. 본 발명의 꽃지누아리 에탄올 추출물은 염증 반응을 매개하는 NO 및 염증성 사이토카인의 생성을 효과적으로 제어하는 것으로 나타났으며, NF-κB 활성 억제와 더불어 MAPKs의 인산화를 효과적으로 억제하여, 염증억제 효과가 있으므로, 이를 염증성 질환의 예방 또는 치료에 이용할 수 있다.
