PURPOSE: A gum base and a method of manufacturing a chewing gum concoction which has a smaller viscosity than a conventional gum base/chewing gum concoction using a gum base as a basic material.CONSTITUTION: A homogeneous composition is manufactured by a batch-type or continuous-type mixing of 25-90 wt% of PVAc(PolyVinyl Acetate), 5-70 wt% of VL/VA(VinylLaurate-VinylAcetate) copolymer, and 1-15 wt% of a softener at a temperature of 80-130°C for about 30-100 minutes. The polyvinyl acetate has an average molecular weight of 10,000-60,000, and the VL/VA copolymer has an average molecular weight of 100,000-600,000. The softener is selected from a group consisting of diacetin, triacetin, acetem, and glycerol monostearate. A method of manufacturing homogeneous composition comprises the following steps. A pre-blended liquid including the VL/VA copolymer and the softener at a weight ratio of 1:2-2:1 and a pre-blended solid including the PVAc and the VL/VA copolymer are prepared. The pre-blended liquid and the pre-blended solid are mixed in a batch-type or a continuous-type at a temperature of 80-130°C for about 30-100 minutes.
