PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a float island unit realizing an artificial float island structure obtained by utilizing waste tires 10 in view of recycle of products, on which aquatic plants are planted, which is stably maintained even when the plants grow up, and which matches the surrounding scenery. SOLUTION: The float island unit 2 is structured as follows: forming a foamed buoyant body 12 having joint parts at prescribed positions of its outer periphery around the waste tire 10; providing a vegetation base-housed basket body 11 projecting downward from the bottom surface opening of the waste tire 10 and having a predetermined-mesh opening and a deep-bottomed shape; and charging a vegetation base material 15 into the waste tire 10 and the vegetation base-housed basket 11. The float island units 2 are joined so as to form a prescribed flat shape while planting emergent plants 21 each on the vegetation base material 15, and fixedly set in an installation water area so as to form the vegetation float island 1.
