Food and Packaging AssemblyA food and packaging assembly 40 comprising one or more part-cooked or fully-cooked products 32 and a packaging system providing a vacuum around the food product and in which the food is cooked. The food product may be a meat product, such as beef, lamb, pork, chicken or fish and may be a meat product with a vegetable product. The meat product may be pre-seared or sous-vide product. The packaging system may provide a vacuum to the food product during cooking, after cooking or from cooking to opening of the packaging. The packaging may include a separate location for the food and for a reservoir (36, fig. 5) in the vacuum, where the reservoir may be separated from the food product by a wall, membrane or divider (6, fig. 5), which may be permeable or semi-permeable and may have holes or slits for passing fluid 38.
